Clinical Pharmacist positions specializing in Leukemia, Lymphoma and Stem Cell Transplant. This position handles all aspects of medication management for leukemia, lymphoma and stem cell transplant patients. Patient care is focused on inpatients, infusion center outpatients and physician clinic outpatients with daily patient rounding conducted in all areas. Pharmacists work closely with physicians (hematologists, infectious disease and internal medicine), mid-level providers and nursing to ensure medication management follows clinical literature, current best practices and regulatory standards. Pharmacists provide extensive patient and staff education, lead investigational drug research, oversee technician compounding in outpatient settings, implement medication safety processes and provide oversight for all medication management policies and procedures. Pharmacists also provide extensive training to pharmacy students and both PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy residents.

Candidates must demonstrate ability to handle high volume patient load, be team oriented, possess leadership qualities and have interest in direct patient care as well as projects, quality improvement and medication safety. Previous experience in oncology pharmacy is preferred with residency completion or experience in leukemia/lymphoma/stem cell transplant being given top priority. Board certification is encouraged.

Current schedule is Monday - Friday with rotating weekend and holiday coverage. With additional growth and development of the program, alterations in schedule and positions may occur.

REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy,ORMaster's Degree with completion of a residency in the assigned clinical area or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years previous hospital pharmacy experience.

PREFERRED:

  • Completion of an accredited post-graduate year 1 (PGY-1) residency with a rotation in an oncology area or equivalent (3 years as a clinical pharmacist)
  • Candidates must demonstrate ability to handle high volume patient load, be team oriented, possess leadership qualities and have interest in direct patient care as well as projects, quality improvement and medication safety.
  • Completion of an accredited PGY-2 oncology residency with a rotation in stem cell transplant or equivalent (3 years as an oncology-focused clinical pharmacist)
  • Certification by Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) is strongly encouraged in the clinical practice specialty - Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist (BCNSP), Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP), etc.
