Incident Management Team (IMT) Safety Officer

Joint Base San Antonio, TX

Job Duties:

Provide on-site safety management and off-site planning prior to exercises or event. Assists military and government service personnel in the design, planning, coordination, synchronization, preparation, and execution of the training/exercise event. Provides CBRN DECON Subject Matter Expertise to the HRF/CERFP, DCRF, C2CRE and US&R teams to enable CBRN/HAZMAT Decontamination training and evaluation mission capability within the teams. Planning and coordination may include unit or venue specific visits, including planning meetings and Site Surveys. During the execution of training exercises and evaluations, contractor support will focus on ambulatory decontamination, non-ambulatory decontamination, technical decontamination, and Casualty Collection Point (CCP) operations in a mass casualty environment.

Qualifications:



  • Fire Academy Graduate certification or intermediate NCO education preferred
  • Possess experience and knowledge of working in this field as emergency responder and shall be accredited by either the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (Pro Board).
  • Knowledge on triage and casualty medical management in response to chemical/biological incidents. Knowledge of EMS system and categories of hospitals capabilities as to Level 1, 2, or 3. Background with basic lifesaving knowledge; chemical, biological, and radiological casualty patient care. Familiar and have knowledge of emergency medical operations, advanced emergency medical care procedures and safety procedures and precautions for operations dealing with hazardous and toxic materials, infections, contagious specimens and extremely volatile chemicals and explosive materials.
  • Professional knowledge of medical technology and science principles, theories, practice, and methodologies sufficient to conduct training and evaluation of CBRN Response Enterprise medical sections. Knowledge and application of hazardous materials chemistry principles, microbiology, mathematics, and statistics as related to laboratory operations, medical operations, and NBC operations.
  • Training in this course includes all specific competencies outlined in NFPA 1006. Be fully qualified in accordance with (IAW) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, National Incident Management System (NIMS), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1670 training qualification standards.IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800, First Aid/CPR, HAZMAT OPS, RAD NUC Responder Operations, Urban Search and Rescue Extractor I Course (NG)/ ATRRS Course: 9E-F58/920-F50.
