JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State York is actively seeking applicants for their Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Academy Team Coordinator position. The STEAM Academy is a partnership program between Penn State York and the School District of the City of York. The program, originally for middle school-aged students and now expanding to other grades, serves as a link between school, work, and community with an emphasis on integrated skills, field experiences, and community service. The academy reinforces and expands participants' knowledge of science, math, and other critical subjects. Students at the STEAM Academy utilize the engineering design process to reinforce practical life skills and develop leadership, collaboration, problem solving and other attributes that are required to be successful future members of the region's workforce. A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. Reporting directly to the Director of Academic Affairs at Penn State York, this part time, 20-hours per week position will organize and oversee the various aspects of the STEAM Academy program governance to include:
The Coordinator will have office space at the STEAM Academy and will be expected to be present at Penn State York routinely for meetings, program coordination efforts, and to submit purchasing requests. This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances: CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS: Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
