JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

This part-time staff position in the Department of Kinesiology will act as a Center for Fitness and Wellness (CFW) Support Assistant. The position reports directly to the CFW Supervisor. Job Duties:

  • Overseeing daily functioning of the center

  • Calibrating/troubleshooting equipment

  • Conducting fitness testing on primarily undergraduate students, as well as lipid and glucose testing

  • Training and oversight of undergraduate interns

  • Debriefing clients

  • Data quality control

  • Collecting fees for services

  • Appointment scheduling

  • Administrative functions

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field preferred.

  • Experience preferred in the fitness industry performing exercise testing, wellness coaching, or personal training.

  • Professional certification preferred; ACSM NSCA, ACE, or NASM may be acceptable.

  • Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, FBI Criminal Background Check.
