JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Biology, in the Eberly College of Science, has a part-time opening for a Research Lab Assistant to work in David Kennedy's research lab during the 2022-2023 academic year. The lab studies the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases, working with mathematical models and laboratory model systems (more info at https://sites.psu.edu/kennedylab/research/). For this position in particular, the successful candidate would help collect data for projects primarily exploring the disease spillover process in a lab model system (worm hosts and its virus pathogen). Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting faculty and Postdoctoral Researchers within routine research lab functions such as preparing materials, carrying out pre-planned experiments, recording information, maintaining lab spaces, and other duties as assigned.
