Overview
The Garfield County Office of Utah State University Extension is seeking an individual to provide 4-H programming for junior high and high school aged youth in the Bryce Valley area. This is a part time, 3 to 4 month position that does not include benefits. We are looking for an individual that is a self starter who can work well with minimal supervision, and who is enthusiastic and engages well with teenagers. The job would entail recruiting and marketing to youth, planning and implementing activities weekly and reporting. We anticipate our instructor working 10-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and teach engaging activities for youth following the logic model and social development strategy.
  • Keep an attendance record of those students who attend.
  • Attend required training and help with county wide 4-H events.
  • Learn the essential elements of youth development and incorporate them into their 4-H programming.
  • Complete a monthly report


Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must work effectively with teenage youth
  • Job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-Starter, good follow-through
  • Ability to work with little supervision

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with youth
  • Past experience in the 4-H Program as a youth or volunteer
  • Skills related to STEM and other subject matter
