JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for professional track (non-tenure-line) teaching faculty positions. The positions will be filled at the Assistant Teaching Professor or Associate Teaching Professor rank, depending on the successful candidates' qualifications. Duties will include undergraduate teaching, curricular development, curricular assessment, and committee assignments. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, theory, computer systems design and programming, and introductory and intermediate programming (Python, Java).

Requirements and Qualifications:

The Assistant Teaching Professor and the Associate Teaching Professor should possess a Ph.D. in computer science and engineering or a closely related field by the appointment start date. Alternatively, the Assistant Teaching Professor without a terminal degree should possess at least a master's degree, must have demonstrated ability as a teacher, and must have shown evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and/or mastery of subject matter.The Associate Teaching Professor without a terminal degree should possess at least a master's degree, must have demonstrated exceptional ability as a teacher while in the rank of senior lecturer or instructor, and must have shown evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and/or mastery of subject matter at a level of distinction beyond that of the Assistant Teaching Professor.

Additional Information:

This is a term appointment, funded for five years from date of hire, with a possibility of renewal.
