We are recruiting for an Assistant Professor of Research in Physiology and Neuroscience at the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute. The work of this position will focus on work to elucidate the mechanistic basic for acute ischemic stroke exacerbation, and developing safe and effective therapeutic strategies for acute ischemic stroke. The candidate needs extensive research training in pharmacology, specifically for in vivo animal model development, therapeutic target validation and new-drug discovery. The candidate should also have expertise in translational, experimental models of stroke including filament and embolic mouse models and have significant experience in evaluating post-stroke sensorimotor and neurological deficit.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000-$116,000.
