The School of Science and Engineering at Saint Louis University(SLU) seeks a dynamic, collegial, collaborative, and creative adjunct faculty member for Fall-2025 to teach a dual-listed (undergraduate and graduate) course in thermal and fluid sciences, Turbomachinery. Applicants should have technical expertise and be motivated to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences to engineering students in a team-oriented, student-focused environment. Interested applicants should possess technical proficiency and practical experience in the disciplinary areas they intend to teach and hold a Ph.D. degree or an M.S. degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Course Outcomes for Turbomachinery:
Apply engineering principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, statics, dynamics, vibrations, controls and mechatronics for the selection and design of turbomachinery, gas turbines, and their components.
Design suitable individual engine components for diverse applications and markets.
Consider dynamic and strength of materials considerations, and suitable materials according to operating conditions such as pressure, temperature, rotating speed, mass flow rate, fuel properties and working fluid properties.
