Description

JOB SUMMARY: This position provides support for the Claremore Indian Hospital of Indian Health Services. Schedule: The Supervisory Medical Technologist will notify you of the shift needed to be covered and the location, when needed. The workload assignment may require to exceed the eight hours per day to complete patient care.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Contractor shall provide clerical support and apply proficiency in the use of general office equipment such as personal computers; telephone, copier, shredder and fax machine. Additionally the contractor shall provide the following clerical duties as required:



  • Assists in reviewing complex section procedures, participating in proficiency testing, accreditation preparation, and quality control review.
  • Assists Supervisory Medical Technologist in collecting data for new section procedures and techniques.
  • Maintains the laboratory area in a clean and orderly manner, compliant with The Joint Commission (TJC), Safety and Infection Control standards and Environment of Care.
  • Assists in department, facility and Service Unit TJC programs as assigned.
  • Supports and promotes the department, facility and IHS vision and mission objectives.
  • Participates in all required HIPAA functions.
  • Maintains current licensure; attends required facility and department in-service and training. Responds correctly to all safety codes (mock or real).
  • . Assists to maintain laboratory waiting area as a safe environment, free of hazards.


Other duties: The contractor shall perform special assignments as requested to fulfill objectives of the department, facility or service unit.



  • Assists the Supervisory Medical Technologist in the maintenance of the RPMS lab package and RML test interfaces.
  • Assists the Supervisory Medical Technologist in the set up and implementation of the DI system for all three-laboratory site locations.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:



  • High School Diploma. Background check required.
