The Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology & Alzheimer's Disease at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seek a full-time Neuropsychiatrist at the rank of Assistant Professor in the non-tenure-eligible Clinician Educator career track.

There are also opportunities to join or initiate research programs in intervention trials, brain imaging, cognitive neuroscience, and neuropathology as they relate to aging and dementia.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) is an 894-bed academic medical center hospital that is the primary teaching affiliate for the Feinberg School of Medicine and has nearly 1,900 affiliated physicians representing virtually every medical specialty. Northwestern Memorial Hospital ranks among the top hospitals in the nation and is recognized for providing exemplary patient care and innovative advancements in a variety of clinical areas including cardiovascular care; oncology; neurology and neurosurgery; geriatrics; solid organ and soft tissue transplants; orthopaedics; and women's health at its Prentice Women's Hospital.

The mission of the Mesulam Center is to conduct cutting-edge research on the devastating neurodegenerative disorders that cause dementia. Through this research we seek to better understand the underlying biological mechanisms of dementias so that we may identify novel therapeutic targets for the amelioration of disease. Our mission is also to clarify the neural organization of behavior and cognition in the human brain and to offer our patients and their families personalized care that addresses the symptoms as well as the underlying disease.

Qualified candidates will possess an MD degree or MD/PhD equivalent, must be board certified/eligible in Psychiatry, and hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois. Fellowship training in behavioral neurology and UCNS certification are desirable.
