As a Sourcing Manager, Transportation & Distribution,you will be responsible for category management and strategic sourcing of transportation and distribution services. This role will develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize costs, ensure quality, and enhance service levels across North American markets, with potential involvement in international responsibilities inclusive of ocean and air freight. The ideal candidate will develop category strategies, execute projects inclusive of strategic sourcing, leverage data analytics skills, drive contract negotiations, and facilitate supplier relationship management at our Fort Worth, TX location. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Develop and manage category plans for transportation and distribution, identifying opportunities for cost savings, service improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for various transportation modes (e.g., truckload, less-than-truckload, rail, ocean, and air freight) and distribution (warehouse services, capital equipment, supplies, etc.), including the development of RFPs, supplier selection, and contract award processes.
  • Negotiate contracts with transportation and distribution service providers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions, cost savings, and service level agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use data analytics skills to evaluate opportunities, identify trends, and support decision-making processes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, finance, and operations teams, to align procurement strategies with business needs.
  • Stay informed of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting supply chain and logistics.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
