About the Job:
We are seeking a motivated and productive post doctoral associate with experience in human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS) to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to funded research projects focused on dystrophic cardiomyopathy using human induced pluripotent stem cells derived cardiac organoids for disease modeling and gene editing. This research aims to deepen our understanding of dystrophic cardiomyopathy and develop novel therapeutic strategies.

Collaboration is a fundamental aspect of this position. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers to design, execute, and analyze experiments.

As a Postdoctoral Associate, you will be responsible for conducting experiments and collecting data. You will contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts for submission and you will have the opportunity to present your findings at relevant scientific meetings. In addition to your research responsibilities you will play an important role in supervising junior trainees.

70% Experimental Research

* Development, design, and implementation of experiments to study muscular dystrophy and genetic cardiomyopathies

* Analysis of data for presentations and publications

* Review relevant manuscripts

15% Scientific Writing and Presentations

* Develop and write journal articles including primary research and review articles for peer-reviewed journals

* Participation in laboratory meetings

* Presentation at local and national meetings

10% Lab supervision

* Provide day-to-day supervision of trainees

* Be a resource for laboratory personnel and trainees for troubleshooting

5%: Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in biomedical fields or related area including stem cell biology, molecular biology, genomics, biomedical engineering, biochemistry
Experience of successfully contributing to writing papers and grants
Prior experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing in human stem cells

Preferred Qualifications:
Special consideration will be given to individuals with experience in human induced pluripotent stem cell techniques including line derivation, cardiac differentiation, and gene editing.
Excellent communication skills written and verbal
Successful candidates will work collaboratively with junior trainees
Prior experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing
