The Position:
Under direct supervision, ensures a pleasant experience for guests that have booked a birthday party in the recreation facility. This is accomplished by setting up the room for a party, setting out a cake, party favors, tableware, balloons, drinks, and food if needed, greeting guests; assisting guest(s) in serving food, party favors, and other tasks, This position does not provide direction to others.

Essential Functions

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

  • Provides customer service to clients and guests by greeting them.
  • Prepares room for party by setting out cake, tableware, drinks, balloons and party favors.
  • Assists guests in serving food and various other tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for cleanup and restocking once parties are completed.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Less than a High School Diploma or equivalent with no prior work experience.

Special Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver's license.

  • First Aid/CPR certification required or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days from hire.

  • Food Handlers Certification required or ability to obtain within three (3) months from hire.

  • City rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Principles of record keeping and records management.

  • Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.

  • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.

  • Providing outstanding customer service and conflict resolution.

  • Operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.

  • Reading and understanding City, State and Federal rules and regulations.

  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships with the public, vendors, and City employees.

  • Effectively communicating in both oral and written format.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment with occasional outdoor.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds occasionally.

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.

  • Ability to bend, climb, walk, and crouch.

  • Ability to operate athletic, Audio/Visual, and kiln equipment.

  • Ability to use hand tools.
