Position Summary
The Department of Surgery at the University of North Carolina is seeking applications for a full-time academic podiatrist to join our Division of Vascular Surgery. The Division of Vascular Surgery is among 10 clinical Divisions in the Department of Surgery. The Division currently includes 3 Podiatrists that provide a broad array of clinical services in order to provide the highest quality care for lower extremity wound and podiatry patients. This is an Open Rank, Open Track, 0.5 FTE to 1.0 FTE Academic appointment that will be offered commensurate with the candidate's experience.

Faculty members within the Division of Vascular Surgery on the Podiatry Services must possess a desire to commit to the missions of the department and school of medicine, including the clinical, and education missions. Regarding the education mission, faculty members are expected to regularly participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. Additionally, podiatry faculty may participate in outreach to our hospitals. Regarding the clinical mission, faculty members must be committed to delivering high quality clinical care that is of value to the patients of UNC. Selected candidate must be team-oriented and have the ability to interact well with colleagues inside and out of the Division.

The Department of Surgery's mission is to provide quality surgical care to the people of North Carolina; to serve as a surgical referral center for patients from throughout the United States and worldwide; to educate medical students, residents, and fellows in surgical specialties; to advance the care of surgical patients through innovative research; and to provide community service throughout the state of North Carolina.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The ideal applicant will have an interest in diabetic foot and ankle management, general podiatry and podiatric surgery. Experience is desirable, but not required.

Applicants with research experience in clinical outcomes and quality, health services research, or basic science/translational research are strongly encouraged to apply, as are applicants with research experience in podiatric medicine and surgery.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
