Job Overview:

Under the direction of the radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, the Breast Imaging Lead Technologist, is responsible for all MQSA, ODH and ACR requirements, including preparing all sites for annual inspections. The lead develops and maintains the equipment QC program as well as MQSA EQUIP program. The lead assisting the radiologists develops, and implements new procedures including training/educating of team members as needed. Maintains department exam quality through regular review of exam quality, performs competency evaluations of team members, monitors exam quality and technical requirements of exams, provides feedback and interaction with physicians, works effectively with patients and families to provide patient care, maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members, and complies with infection prevention procedures. The lead technologist also performs the duties of a mammography technologist as required. The lead technologist serves on protocol committees and reviews and maintains data in the dose monitoring software. The lead technologist will serve as a back up to breast center supervisors for vacations, as well as team member vacation coverage when necessary. This is a working position and the lead must meet all ARRT and state of Ohio requirements in addition to demonstrating ongoing proficiency in required skills. Certification in Mammography is required. This position adheres to the Practice Standards defined by the ASRT. The lead will travel to other locations for QC and annual inspections.

Job Requirements:

Associate's Degree in Allied Health

Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Certification in Mammography required and BLS/CPR Radiologic Technologist, ARRT

State Licensure

QC/MQSA/ACR/ODH regulations

Quality control

3-4 years experience Clinical Allied Health in a related field

Experience Supervisor/Lead Allied Health

Job Responsibilities:

Leads work groups to provide quality service. Oversees quality of exams being produced by staff technologists in accordance with EQUIP standards.

Ensures compliance with all ACR/MQSA regulations by overseeing quality program, ongoing selection of appropriate images, documentation, and daily quality controls.

Demonstrates organizational and communication skills to promote the well-being of the department. Maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.

Accurately establishes and maintains all necessary department protocols, competencies, and oversees annual staff education. Participates in onboarding and training of new team members.

Demonstrates competence and working knowledge of equipment and assists in evaluation and selection of new breast imaging technology.

Other Job-Related Information:

Must be willing and able to travel to 9 mammography locations for annual MQSA inspections and oversight of QC programs.
