Cape Fox Corporation subsidiary Concentric Methods is seeking an experienced Massage Therapist. Duties include:



  • Serve as a medical massage therapist offering a full array of the most current and emerging approaches for patients with acute and chronic pain who have not responded well to conventional treatment modalities. Therapies shall be based on integrative medicine.
  • Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide assessments, planning, implementation, coordination, evaluation, and monitoring of patients for health options and services.
  • Assist in developing, analyzing, integrating, monitoring, and managing healthcare delivery systems through communication and use of resources to promote quality and cost-effective outcomes across the continuum.


  • Perform massage therapy procedures and modalities effective for a variety of musculoskeletal pain and medical conditions through the practice of manipulation of the soft body tissues with physical, functional, i.e., mechanical, medical/therapeutic, and in some cases, psychological purposes and goals.
  • Examine all patients prior to initiating a treatment procedure or providing appropriate services. Develop and review patient treatment plans in coordination with a credentialed provider for appropriateness prior to implementation of treatment. Incorporate massage therapy modalities, such as Swedish, Shiatsu, Tai or deep tissue massage, lomilomi, myofascial release, strain counter strain, manual lymphatic drainage, reflexology, acupressure, sports massage, craniosacral and soft tissue therapy or neuromuscular massage with specialization in several modalities, which require different highly specialized techniques.
  • Use complementary aids, such as infrared lamps, wet compresses, ice, and whirlpool baths in order to promote the patient's care and well-being. Consider medical contraindications to massage, such as deep vein thrombosis, bleeding disorders or blood thinners, damaged blood vessels, weakened bones from cancer, osteoporosis, or fractures, and fever prior to initiating treatment. Provide technical massage therapy advice and specialty opinions upon request from healthcare providers.
  • Treatment may be used with other supporting forms of treatment (physical modalities) depending on the patient's specific needs. Serve as a consultant to leadership on issues surrounding medical massage care. Evaluate the functioning of the neuromusculoskeletal system using standard systems of diagnosis. Determine if medical massage is suitable for the patient by questioning, observing and examining patients as well as reviewing patient's drug therapies, health and medical histories.
  • Obtain and record patients' medical histories. Counsel patients on nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, and other matters related to medical massage care. Advise patients about recommended courses of treatment and follow-up care. When necessary, consult with and refer patients to appropriate specialty care to include interventional pain anesthesiologists, physiatrists, physical therapists, and any other health care providers involved in the care of the patient. Attend and participate in patient case conferences and other appropriate medical message activities.
