We are searching for a talented Advanced Practitioner for Inpatient Clinical Cardiac.

Hours: 40 hours: 10A - 6P

Shift: Day/Evening: Weekends & holidays optional

Location: St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford, MA

• Position reports to the Physician-in-Chief of Psychiatry, receiving oversight and supervision from a psychiatrist.
• Perform diversified consultation-liaison, inpatient & emergency department services as directed, and in support of Southcoast Department of Psychiatry and Southcoast Physician Group, under the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing Nurse Practitioner practice.
• Participate in quality improvement endeavors as indicated, and assure adequate, timely, appropriate medical record documentation and billing.
• Provide evidence-based inpatient consultation/liaison, emergency department consultations and follow-up under the supervision of the individually assigned Psychiatrist, at St. Luke's Hospital as directed by the Chief of Psychiatry.
• Engage, collaborate, advocate with/for patients with behavioral health needs.
• Chart completely and accurately in accordance with all billing regulations. Other documentation as requested.
• Support and/or coordinate disposition or enlisting appropriate staff to do so, under direction of Psychiatrist.
• Participate in continuing medical education to maintain and enhance knowledge in consultation liaison psychiatry.
• May participate in research or quality improvement project or in-service lectures regarding behavioral health.
• Participate in departmental and hospital committees as needed by the department.

• Experience in adult behavioral health population, appreciating specific interest or experience in substance use disorders and/or Geriatrics.
• Demonstrated standards of excellence, respect, communication, courtesy, enthusiasm, initiative and teamwork with the ability to develop complex patient management recommendations in consultation with attending Psychiatrist - is required.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant capacity required.
• Current Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP or Physician Assistant license is required.
