The Zhenqi Liu lab in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Virginia's School of Medicine seeks candidates for a Laboratory and Research Technician 2, Lab Specialist, Lab Specialist Intermediate, or Lab Specialist Senior. The Liu lab focuses on studying insulin action and energy metabolism in various research models, including cultured cells, rodent models, and human subjects. The primary responsibilities include overseeing the daily operation of the laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Liu and/or senior staff. Duties will entail performing laboratory tasks such as cell isolation, Western blotting, tissue and cell culture, cloning, and PCR, and assisting lab personnel with routine experiments. Incumbent will also be responsible for ordering supplies for the lab. The successful candidate will:
Minimum Requirements: Laboratory and Research Technician 2 Education: Associate's degree Experience:At least 2 years of lab experience which may include student experience.Bachelor's degree in related science will be considered in lieu of experience. Lab Specialist: Education: Bachelor's degree. Lab Specialist Intermediate: Education: Bachelor's degree. Lab Specialist Senior Education: Bachelor's degree. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position will remain open until filled. This position is restricted and dependent upon project needs, funding availability, and performance.
