Job Summary

Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on mobile devices. Provides reliable and accurate technical knowledge to deploy newly approved devices and resolve issues. Utilizes strong understanding of mobile device security protocols to assure overall device management. Responsible for training both trainers and end users at all levels up to and including executives in the operation and configuration of devices and/or services provided. Coordinates the purchasing of mobile devices, software, licensing, and maintenance associated with these devices. Serves to coordinate the installation of mobile devices including but not limited to tablets, laptops, cellular, mobile VOIP devices, pagers, and all associated peripherals. Assists in the maintenance of vendor contracts, contract terms and contract versioning for assigned vendors. This position will create, maintain, and manage documentation for both technical staff and end users as necessary. Assists with budget forecasting for hardware and software assets.

Essential Functions

  • Manages the purchase and deployment of mobile hardware, software, licensing, security and maintenance related to the enterprise mobile device management solution.

  • Performs analysis and resolution of complex technical performance issues to provide Tier 2 support to personnel and customers.

  • Performs updates and deployments to mobile devices utilizing mobile device management software including testing and certification while adhering to department standards.

  • Participates with ITS leadership in current and future mobile devices strategic planning including research, selection and deployment of new technologies.

  • Creates and maintains mobile device documentation related to mobility strategy, education, polices, processes, and troubleshooting.

  • Works independently to prioritize work that provides resolution to Tier 2 Service Desk cases within established service level agreements, appropriately escalating unresolved issues.

  • Educates trainers and end users of levels on the operation of devices and provided services.

  • Maintains mobile device databases including inventory management and mobility device management.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Associate degree in Information Technology, Business, Management, or related field of study

  • Experience - Five (5) years mobile device management applications and IOS, Android and Windows technologies

In Lieu Of

  • In Lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, High School Diploma and five (5) years of information technology / mobile device management experience may be considered.
