Job Summary
Central Washington University is recruiting a Psychologist/Mental Health Counselor to join our Student Counseling Services team in Ellensburg, Washington. This role is an important member of our team as they provide vital mental health services for students, work with systemically marginalized students to reduce barriers to care, and collaborate with other Student Counseling Services staff to provide mental health services grounded in cultural humility and social justice for students from a variety of intersecting identities. The role is a campus-based position, which means you get to see the lives you are impacting. We're offering a salary, depending on experience, from $80,588 - $100,736 annually (appointment may be 10-month cyclic OR 12-months at 0.8 FTE) plus the awesome CWU benefits. The Role: This position works in accordance with State and Federal Regulations, University policies and procedures, and according to and within the scope of their licensure. Privileging for the access of confidential private health information is consistent with the policies and procedures of the clinic, the university, and HIPAA and FERPA regulations, and other state regulations, and according to the licensing authority. This is a clinically privileged position that requires access to confidential Private Health Information (PHI). The individual in this position will be reviewed at time of hire and annually thereafter to ensure that education, licensure, training, and experience required by accrediting bodies, Central Washington University: Student Success division, university and clinic policies and procedures are met. This individual may have access to all levels of patient records, internal and external reports, and documentation from other providers and services. Additionally, they may have access to health information necessary to coordinate treatment services with community specialist or other providers. This individual will limit access to information that is applicable to the services required and will protect the confidentiality of patient health information as consistent with the requirements of; FERPA, HIPAA, CFR-42 and other state and federal laws regarding confidentiality and disclosure of information. The level of access to confidential private health information may be limited due to disciplinary issues and if failing to comply with the policies and procedures regarding privileging and confidentiality may result in disciplinary action leading up to and including termination. In addition, individuals found to be violating confidentiality may face federal prosecution. Job Duties

Salary: This position has a minimum annual salary of $80,588 and maximum annual salary of $120,833. The Hiring Department's expected hiring range is $80,588 - $100,736. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the hiring range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) / Appointment may be 10-month cyclic OR 12-months at 0.8 FTE Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily in a mixed-use building, housing both academic departments and student services. The Student Counseling Services suite is on the second floor; there is both elevator and stair access to the second floor. The majority of the work will occur within this setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Ability to travel to other buildings on campus is necessary. There may be some evening or weekend on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis. Occasional travel may be required. Telehealth is an element of service provision, but face-to-face therapy is the main service modality.
