LinQuest has an immediate need for a Modeling & Simulation Specialist on our team in Ft. Meade, Maryland. In this role, you will support our USSTRATCOM NC3 Enterprise Center (NEC) customer. Our customer serves as principal enterprise systems engineering, enterprise architecture, and technical authority for the Nuclear C3 Enterprise within DoD and oversee systems engineering and integration for the entire National Leadership Command Capability (NLCC) infrastructure. The NEC SE&I Division activities span the complex systems, programs and capabilities that compose the NC3 enterprise.

You will be a part of a major new design opportunity that will focus on engineering, analysis, and documentation of current and objective Enterprise Architectures. This will involve architecture development/trade-offs for acquisition strategy decisions to evolve the Nuclear C3 System into a broader Strategic C3/National Leadership Command Capability (NLCC). This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Conduct mission engineering studies to guide decisions focused on the end-to-end mission to identify new or enhanced capabilities and provide impacts of performance levels on NC3 system of systems
  • Provide system engineering expertise to evaluate and ensure upgrades, integration, test, transformation efforts of NC3/NLCC systems and sub-components are executed as planned
  • Support limited scope technical quick reaction (e.g. two weeks turn around) analysis of NC3/NLCC systems issues in support of the NC3/NLCC community
    Advise and assist the Government in defining of NC3 Enterprise Figures of Merit (FOM) target for model base systems engineering and mission engineering (ME) studies
  • Support the execution of computer simulations and assessments evaluating the impacts of nuclear weapons and tactics of adversaries on the NC3 communication systems
  • Advise and assist the Government in the development of a transition plan for the implementation of mission engineering study recommendations
  • Assess the NLCC/NC3 architecture using computer simulations and models to evaluate how well communications work in a benign and stressed nuclear environment and generate reports and briefs using the results
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for the position.


Requires Skills & Experience:



  • 5+ years' of experience providing dedicated support to include modeling and simulation functions or operations such as plans, coordination, demonstrations, and instruction for health, environmental, transportation, law enforcement, military, or civil agencies, and support to live, constructive, or virtual training.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of DoD and AF acquisition processes, policies, procedures, and statutory/regulatory requirement
  • Strong knowledge and experience implementing the DoD Systems Engineering "V" Model
  • Experience supporting the development, analysis, and implementation of an Agile DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery model of software development, integration, and deployment; Cloud technologies; and microservice architectures
  • Experience supporting Hardware/Software quality control by, evaluating programs regarding development, maintenance, testing, and quality assurance


Preferred Skills & Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field and 5+ years' relevant experience providing dedicated support to modeling and simulation functions or operations such as plans, coordination, demonstrations, and instruction for health, environmental, transportation, law enforcement, military, or civil agencies, and support to live, constructive, or virtual training, OR experience supporting USSTRATCOM weapon systems and/or capabilities.


    Compensation: Starting salary ranges from $90,000 to $103,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
