Position Summary

The
University of New Mexico College of Education and Human Sciences, Department of
Teacher Education, Educational Leadership and Policy, invites applications for a
tenure-line Educational Leadership position with a target start date of August
2025 (Academic Year 2025-26). Although the positions may commence as early as
August 2025, the positions shall remain open until filled.

The UNM
College of Education and Human Sciences, comprised of five academic
departments, is a future-oriented, dynamic professional school organized to
reflect the following values: Advocacy, Building Professional Identities,
Collaboration, Building School/University Partnerships, Diversity and Social
Justice, Interdisciplinary Inquiry/Scholarship and Teaching, Learning and
Leadership.

The Teacher
Education, Educational Leadership and Policy (TEELP) Department is the largest
in the college with the uniqueness of having both undergraduate and graduate
education and educational leadership programs that address K-12,
administration, leadership, and higher education needs together in one academic
unit.

New funding from the state of
New Mexico and the University of New Mexico provides a wonderful opportunity
for an incoming tenure-line Assistant/Associate Professor in Educational
Leadership.

Responsibilities: The tenure-line
faculty will teach master's and doctoral students in Educational Leadership. In
accordance with the department's approved workload policy, tenure-line faculty in the department have a 2/2 teaching
load beginning in year 3. In years 1 and 2, tenure-line faculty teach a reduced
load of 1/2 or 2/1. Other responsibilities include developing an active
research agenda, advising master's and doctoral students specializing in
educational leadership; chairing and/or serving on master's exams, theses, and
doctoral dissertation committees; serving on department and university
committees; contributing to program partnerships and initiatives.

Expectations
will be commensurate with the rank sought (Assistant, Associate).

Qualifications

Minimum
requirements:

* Earned doctorate from an accredited university in Educational Leadership, or a closely related field). All requirements for the doctorate must have been completed by the time of the start date of the appointment.

* Minimum of three years of successful experience as a PK-20 leader (e.g., principal, assistant principal, superintendent, director, assistant director).

* Evidence of research in the area of Educational Leadership.

Preferred requirements:

* Minimum of five (5)
years of successful experience as a PK-20 leader (e.g., principal, assistant
principal, superintendent, director, assistant director)

* Evidence of
excellence or potential for excellence in teaching courses in Educational
Leadership

* Evidence of
excellence or potential for excellence in research in Educational Leadership

* Experience with a variety of course delivery methods

* Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.

* Knowledge of or experience teaching quantitative and/or qualitative research methods

* Experience with or knowledge of education in urban and/or rural and Indigenous settings

* Experience in writing and/or analyzing educational policy
