Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Boat Operator to provide full life cycle technical support for all types of combatant craft, boats, watercraft, amphibious vessels and vehicles, Patrol Coastal Class ships, specialty craft and vessels, life rafts, inflatable craft, unmanned vessels and vehicles, and associated craft and mission systems for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's Combatant Craft Division.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active United States Coast Guard (USCG) Captain's License

  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

• Education: High school diploma, trade/industrial school graduate, or GED equivalent (required)

• Clearance: Must possess a current Secret Clearance

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Related military experience
• Experience supporting test and evaluation of maritime electrical and electronic systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support watercraft delivery operations, including:

  • Operating watercraft to assess condition

  • Operating watercraft for delivery and pick-up

  • Performing other watercraft operations as needed to support test and evaluation

• Assist with operational performance analysis of watercraft prior to maintenance or system upgrades, including:

  • Supporting certification of watercraft repairs

  • Conducting test and evaluation of new watercraft

  • Performing inspections and operational checks
