Overview

Performs basic routine warehousing duties. This is a union position within PPL. The successful candidate will be a member of IBEW Local 1600. We will be hiring for 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:00pm) and 3rd shift (11:00pm-7:00am).


Responsibilities

  1. Picks, packs, stages, issues, receives, inspects, puts-away, returns, delivers and ships materials, tools, equipment and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
  2. Utilizes wireless handheld devices, automated inventory warehousing devices, and computers as required in performance of job duties.
  3. Uses computers and software systems to perform daily activities, including ERP, work management and supply chain applications and systems.
  4. Operates forklift and other material handling equipment, e., pallet jacks, power carts, and all other specialized equipment associated with performance of duties.
  5. Operates common power tools, banding equipment, and other hand tools as required.
  6. Loads and unloads vehicles.
  7. Places received mail and materials into their proper location.
  8. Performs routine local errands related to Logistics functions.
  9. Signs for material deliveries as required.
  10. Performs miscellaneous yard and warehouse clean-up activities.
  11. Operates a single unit motor vehicle up to 17,000 lbs. GVW, to transport mail and materials.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary.

Qualifications

  1. High school education or equivalent.
  2. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  3. Successful completion of the PPL Logistics Aptitude Test or its equivalent.
  4. Ability to obtain valid and appropriate operator's license or certificate and ability to operate material handling equipment and vehicles e.g. forklift, material cart, van or pick-up truck.
  5. Adequate physical ability to perform manual work associated with job duties.
