Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Development, VMC, design, implement, and coordinate a comprehensive, school-wide stewardship program. This program will consistently and appropriately foster donor interactions and recognition across all levels of giving. Collaboates with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of stewardship functions. Partners with the senior leadership team to provide strategic direction for projects designed to enhance the donor-giving experience. Consistent communication and engagement programs for donors and prospective donors are critical elements of the fundraising efforts and aim to build lifelong relationships with donors, instilling pride for the school, and trust that their gifts are managed with the utmost care and responsibility.
This position also focuses on reaching, serving, and engaging key external constituencies-including alumni, local communities, parents, friends of the School, grateful clients, and the general public-through direct mail, email, and phone communication. . Ensures the quality assurance and data integrity of complex donor data while creating and monitoring donor recognition programs for the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM). - Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Experience in working within a successful advancement program, including development, donor relations, and communications. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices involved in building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse constituencies and experience working with high-net-worth individuals, corporate partners, or foundations and experience in leveraging donor data and analytics tools, such as CRM systems, to inform and improve fundraising strategies
- Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively respond to inquiries, convey complex information to diverse audiences, and draft, proofread, and edit correspondence, memoranda, and reports with meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in document formatting and production in a business context.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, coupled with sound judgment and decision-making abilities. Proven capacity to accurately identify real and potential issues, provide timely advice to management. and propose strategic, effective resolutions and synthesize complex data and present findings in a clear, actionable manner.
- Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and resolve daily operational issues within established guidelines, policies, and procedures while managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
- Robust project management skills, including the ability to apply analytical and organizational techniques to manage and balance the heavy demands associated with program administration. Experience with specific project management tools or software that are relevant to the role (e.g., Asana, Trello).
- Thorough knowledge of the university and school, its mission, goals, objectives, programs, achievement, infrastructure and issues of concern.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows and the full suite of MS Office applications (MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook), as well as proficiency in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Comprehensive knowledge of development and fundraising practices, with a deep understanding of the donor lifecycle and relationship-building. strategies.
- Proficient in designing and producing visually appealing and effective materials, such as posters, flyers, invitations, certificates, and direct mail pieces, using design tools like InDesign and Canva and other relevant design software or tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or video editing tools.
