Our Patient Safety and Quality team is looking for a new team member to join them!

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Weekends as needed!

Position Summary:

The RN working as a Data Analyst is responsible for the collection, analysis, and management of data related to organization-wide patient safety and quality initiatives. Patient Safety functions are part of this role. Compilation and distribution of reports will be a collaborative effort between the PSQ RN and the Director of Patient Safety & Quality.


Primary Customer Served:

No direct patient care.


Education and Training Required:

RN (BSN preferred).

Current license in the state of Wisconsin.


Experience:

Minimum three (3) years clinical experience in a health care setting.

Previous leadership experience or project management experience highly recommended


Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Data Analyst:

Database systems; Excel spreadsheets, statistical reporting, medical terminology, base knowledge of Incident reporting, and computer WORD processing experience necessary.

Demonstrates knowledge of Core Measures, CMS public reporting, Checkpoint reporting, & TJC standards.

Demonstrates basic understanding of quality monitoring activities.

Problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiating skills.

Project management skills with ability to organize and prioritize work activities.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to act with compassion, respect, prudent judgment, and loyalty.

Ability to interact with others in positive manner, demonstrating knowledge of team dynamics.

Ability to function competently and effectively during periods of stress.

Ability to work independently.

Provide general knowledge of growth and development theory and care of the patient across the life span in order to successfully educate and coach staff in appropriate and pertinent performance improvement activities.


Physical Requirements:

Frequently sits at desk.

Occasionally stands to perform tasks.

Frequently walks to distribute documents, review charts, and to meet with other staff

Occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds of materials such as paper files, books and manuals.

Occasionally pushes or pulls with up to 10 pounds of force when moving carts and other equipment

Occasionally carries up to 10 pounds.

Occasionally requires lifting overhead for paper, supplies, books and manuals.

May require using fine motor skills for the operation of needles, syringes, vials, clinical devices and supplies, computers, copiers and telephone equipment.

Cognition/Communication:

Frequently requires effective communication with other staff, physicians, volunteers and customers using hearing skills, comprehensive speech, complex writing and complex reading skills.

Frequently communicates utilizing various methods available: telephone, paging, email, print or in person.

Frequently requires recognizing and using medical terminology.

Frequently uses complex math skills for interpreting lab values, performing medication calculations, and performing data analysis.

Potential Hazards:

OSHA Blood Borne/TB Classification Class II - Occupational exposure to blood and Other Potentially Infectious Materials (OPIMs) is not reasonably expected to occur in routine performance duties.
