PS2 Polish Operator Trainee - 2nd Shift
Job Overview Job Title: Production Support 2 - Polish Operator Trainee (Non-Experienced) Reports to: Value Stream Manager Location: Kent, WA Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly) Schedule: 2nd shift, Ability to Train on 1st up to 90 days. 2nd Shift: Mon thru Fri, 2P to 10:30P; Training on 1st shift: Mon thru Fri, 6A to 2:30PM. Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Who we are: Hytek Finishes is a leading aerospace and defense surface finishing company based in the Pacific Northwest within the Greater Seattle region. We work with industry leaders who build product for commercial aircraft to military aircraft to spacecraft. Our services range from anodizing, plating, non-destructive testing, painting, shotpeening, abrasive blasting, and polishing. Position Summary: As a Polish Operator Trainee, you wil l learn a range of techniques and tools for polishing parts including the use of wheel lathes, Dynafiles, and various hand tools to achieve customer driven visual requirements, most often to achieve a grain finish appearance. Polish Operators and Operator Trainee's each perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. This role may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. *FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing. Essential Mental/Physical Demands DOL Categories: Very Heavy for Operators, physical ability to consistently bend, lift, twist, turn, movement of forearms, shoulders, knees for a duration of time.
Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals. Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment is required including safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and N95 mask as needed (provided by Company). Salary Range: $16.66 to $45.00 per hour. This position receives a base hourly, plus a $2.00 Polish differential pay, and a $.50 cents additional for 2nd shift differential pay. Hourly rate and Sign On Bonus are dependent upon previous aerospace experience or experience similar in duties and responsibilities as Hytek's job description. SignOn Bonus requires an 18-month commitment period with a pay-out of $500 within the first pay period; balance of $2,000 paid out after 90 days.
