SUMMARY:

SNF Polychemie, a subsidiary of SNF Holding Company, is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician. The I&E Technician works in an outdoor chemical industrial plant to inspect, repair, install, certify, commission, and maintain the facility's production equipment and control systems. The I&E Technician works under the direct supervision of the Senior I&E Technicians and the I&E Supervisor. He/she must beavailable to work nights, holidays, weekends, or overtime on a rotating On-Call Basis. The I&E Technician works with other crafts and Production as instructed by management.

LOCATION: Pearlington, MS

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Ensures the safe operation of machinery, instrumentation, and electrical equipment by completing preventative and corrective maintenance requirements on various production equipment, utilizing a Preventative Maintenance (PM) program to continually reduce unscheduled downtime.
  • Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted and maintain complete work records. Performed using detailed logs and good communication skills with all groups/departments.
  • Assist Senior Technicians with certifying and maintaining instrumentation devices for chemical processes (flow meters, pH meters, RTDs, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, load cells, etc.).
  • Assist Senior Technicians in developing and maintaining DCS and PLC control logic for chemical processes.
  • Assist in the commissioning and start-up of instrumentation and control system equipment for chemical processes.
  • Perform maintenance and help troubleshoot existing instrumentation, control systems, networks, and electrical equipment.
  • Maintain documentation and calibration records for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ensure that potential safety and environmental issues related to projects are considered at all stages of the startup, shutdown, and continuous operations of the process equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery such as Forklifts, Extended Boom Lifts, Scissors Lifts, and Aerial Manlifts.
  • Always understand and Follow safety guidelines and wear prescribed PPE.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or certificate in Instrumentation Technology.
  • 1-5 years experience in Instrumentation or related technology.
  • Knows how to read and interpret P&ID and General Arrangement drawings.
  • Experience in SAP Maintenance Module preferred.
  • Beginning to working knowledge of chemical control systems.
  • Time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to do physical inspections(i.e., climbing, reaching, extending).
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in an environment that has extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Ability to work in permitted confined spaces.
