Position description

The Department of Statistics & Data Science at the University of California, Los Angeles invites applications for a position as a Fixed-Term Assistant Professor for Winter Quarter 2025 and Spring Quarter 2025. We seek outstanding applicants contributing to cutting edge statistical research.

Applicants are required to have completed their PhD in Statistics or a related field by the time of their appointment on January 1, 2025.

The position's teaching obligations require that the official payroll title be Assistant Adjunct Professor, although de facto, this is an Assistant Professor position for a fixed-term (non-tenure track), providing an opportunity for post-doctoral scholars to develop both their research and teaching portfolios. The expected teaching load for this position is two courses per academic quarter. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
