Vascular Sonographer PRN - Noninvasive Vascular Department

Job Description:

Eight-hour day shift -PRN

Department is open 0630-1700. Shifts start times are 0630, 0730, 0830.
Rotation of on call required. On call hours 1700-0630 weeknights and 0630-0630 weekends and holidays. Weekend and holiday call shifts are rotated between all staff.

Vascular Sonographer - PRN

Reviews patient chart and results of previous diagnostic studies and records patient's personal and medical information. Selects appropriate equipment and proper technical factors on an individual patient basis according to specific orders and part of body to be examined. Assists patient in assuming physical position for required examination. Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards. May assist in the use of a variety of equipment or procedures not routinely taught. Performs a variety of clerical tasks as necessary. May be responsible for specific areas of instruction and supervision of students in the School of Radiologic Technology, School of Ultrasound, technologists, and ancillary personnel.

Job Duties:

• Performs each vascular procedure with technical accuracy and efficiency according to department's protocols and IAC standards
• Ensure correct charges, creates preliminary reports for interpretation and communicates results as needed.
• Evaluates each patient by use of concise, accurate medical history and physical assessment

Requirements:

• Technical Diploma
• One year of job-related experience
• Must be American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers registered or eligible.
• If registry eligible, ARDMS registration must be obtained within one year from date of hire.
