INVISTA is seeking a dedicated and skilled Instrument & Electrical Engineer to join our team in Orange, TX. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the support and ownership of site-wide instrumentation and electrical integrity, reliability, and overall I/E health through the evaluation and application of best practices. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can communicate effectively and is safety oriented.

What You Will Do
* Reliability Strategies: Identify and facilitate the implementation of reliability strategies and instrumentation / electrical best practices, including equipment specifications, standards, and maintenance activities such as Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP).
* Project Justification: Develop economical and technical justifications to support capital projects involving equipment replacements and reliability improvements.
* Collaboration: Work with project managers, design contractors, and vendors to develop scopes of work and detailed engineering designs for I/E repairs and improvement projects.
* Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance plans for Instrumentation, as well as low and medium and voltage electrical equipment.
* Reliability Processes: Lead, facilitate, and participate in reliability work processes such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Management of Change (MOC), Incident Investigation, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Risk Assessment and Mitigation.
* Inspection and QA/QC: Provide guidance and input to establish minimum expectations for inspection and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) activities in procurement packages and commissioning of instrumentation, SIFs, IPLs, as well as low and medium and voltage electrical equipment.
* Technical Support: Support site I/E maintenance procedures as well as instrumentation and electrical craft training programs, providing ongoing technical support.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
* Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Engineering, or a closely related field
* Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA-70E, API, IEEE, Safety Instrumented Systems Independent Protection Layers, and all OSHA electrical compliance standards
* 5+ years' experience in an Instrumentation/Electrical Reliability or Technical role
* Experience in a petrochemical or Process Safety Management (PSM) covered facility
* Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
* This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead
* In-depth knowledge of facility/process design in engineering and PSM standards, Safety Instrumented Systems, and PHA development
* Experience using engineering software such as SKM Power Tools (or equivalent), Fathom, ASPEN, Seeq, and OSI Pi
* Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like SAP or Maximo
* Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives, troubleshooting, and managing projects

Physical Requirements/Other Considerations

* Ability to enter and navigate confined spaces and wear personnel protective equipment (PPE)
* Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders in a plant environment
